EasyFEM - An object-oriented graphics interface finite element/finite volume software
نویسندگان
چکیده
An object-oriented finite element/finite volume software, EasyFEM, has been developed. The software, with a fully interactive graphics interface, analyses heat transfer, solid mechanics, and fluids problems by the finite element and the finite volume methods. The Coad and Yourdon methodology is used to describe the general structure of classes and objects implemented by the software. Details of the object-oriented classes for both the graphics preand post-processors, as well as for the analysis solutions, are described. Several case studies with graphical representations of numerical solutions are presented to illustrate some functionalities of the software. 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

An Object-Oriented Programming Framework for Parallel Finite Element Analysis with Application: Liquid Composite Molding
The use of object-oriented programming techniques in development of parallel, finite element analysis software enhances software reuse and makes application development more efficient. In this paper, an object-oriented programming framework for developing parallel finite element software is described. All required steps, from data file parsing and equation solving to post processing and graphic...
متن کاملApplication of Finite Layer Method in Pavement Structural Analysis
The finite element (FE) method has been widely used in predicting the structural responses of asphalt pavements. However, the three-dimensional (3D) modeling in general-purpose FE software systems such as ABAQUS requires extensive computations and is relatively time-consuming. To address this issue, a specific computational code EasyFEM was developed based on the finite layer method (FLM) for a...
متن کاملFer/subdomain: an Integrated Environment for Finite Element Analysis Using Object-oriented Approach
Development of user-friendly and flexible scientific programs is a key to their usage, extension and maintenance. This paper presents an OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) approach for design of finite element analysis programs. General organization of the developed software system, called FER/SubDomain, is given which includes the solver and the pre/post processors with a friendly GUI (Graphica...
متن کاملCoupling Nonlinear Element Free Galerkin and Linear Galerkin Finite Volume Solver for 2D Modeling of Local Plasticity in Structural Material
This paper introduces a computational strategy to collaboratively develop the Galerkin Finite Volume Method (GFVM) as one of the most straightforward and efficient explicit numerical methods to solve structural problems encountering material nonlinearity in a small limited area, while the remainder of the domain represents a linear elastic behavior. In this regard, the Element Free Galerkin met...
متن کاملNonlinear Finite-Element Analysis Software Architecture Using Object Composition
Object composition offers significant advantages over class inheritance to develop a flexible software architecture for finiteelement analysis. Using this approach, separate classes encapsulate fundamental finite-element algorithms and interoperate to form and solve the governing nonlinear equations. Communication between objects in the analysis composition is established using software design ...
